INTRODUCTION <br /> The purpose of this Site Safety Plan is to establish requirements for protecting the health <br /> and safety of employees, contractors and subcontractors during the soil excavation and <br /> removal of underground storage tanks at Star Market 2525 Hutchins St.,Lodi, California. <br /> This plan describes hazard information and health and safety procedures to be followed by <br /> all designated field personnel during the soil excavation and tank removal operations. <br /> II. FACILITY BACKGROUND/WORKPLAN <br /> A. Address <br /> 2525 Hutchins Street, Lodi, California <br /> B. Location <br /> The approximately 5 acre site is located 2.0 miles west of Highway 99. The exit <br /> off of highway 99 is Harney Lane. The site is on the northwestern corner of <br /> Harney Lane & Hutchins Street. <br /> C. Schedule <br /> Excavation and removal of the U.S.T's will require approximately 2 days to <br /> complete. Tank removal is expected to take place during the week of September <br /> 30, 1996. Once tank removal is completed, the excavation will be backfilled with <br /> a pea gravel and base rock compaction. All construction activities to be conducted <br /> during daylight hours (approximately 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.). <br /> D Operation <br /> Field activities include the use of heavy equipment for the excavation, stockpiling <br /> of the soil, tank removal via a crane, backfilling and compaction of the excavation <br /> and eventually the asphalting of the surface area. <br /> III. KEY PERSONNEL AND RESPONSIBILITIES <br /> Predesigned field investigations will be performed by DEL TECH and their associates. <br /> Actual excavation activities will be completed by Del-Tech. DEL TECH will be on-site <br /> to complete all construction activities, and will be responsible for project management. <br /> Sherwood Analytical Laboratory, in Hilmar, California will be responsible for the analysis <br /> of all soil samples collected. The project manager for DEL TECH will be Don Light. <br /> 1 <br />
