Lockeford St. , Lodi <br /> On March 2 & 3 , 1987 , four underground storage tanks previously containing <br /> motor vehicle fuels were removed at the above referenced location. <br /> Soil samples obtained from the backfill areas under each tank were <br /> analyzed by Canonie Environmental and found to contain the following: <br /> 1 . Tank #4 backfill 3100 ppm total petroleum hydrocarbons (TPHC) . <br /> 2 . Tank #2 backfill 34 ppm Tetra Ethyl Lead (TEL) reported as <br /> total lead. <br /> 3 . Tank 1 & 3 were non detectable (ND) . <br /> The levels identified under tank #2 and tank #4 indicate significant <br /> contamination and shall be addressed as follows: <br /> 1 . Excavate the soil in the area of tank #2 and tank #4 to a <br /> depth of 15 feet . (Documented area of last soil sample) . <br /> Determine by soil analysis at what depth below 15 feet , both <br /> horizontal and vertical , clean soil is encountered, Soil <br /> sampling shall be observed by a Health District Sanitarian . <br /> 2 . Remove and transport by manifest all contaminated soil from <br /> tank #2 to a approved Class I disposal site. <br /> 3 . Remove and transport by manifest all contaminated soil from <br /> tank #4 to a approved Class I disposal site. <br /> or <br /> Provide on site soil aeration for the contaminated soil from <br /> tank #4 excavation. Soil aeration subject to Air Pollution <br /> Control District guidelines . (10 cu yds/day based upon an <br /> average soil analysis result of 3500 T.P.H. ) <br /> Soil aeration also subject to the Lodi City Fire Department <br /> approval . <br /> or <br /> Provide off site soil aeration for the contaminated soil from <br /> tank #4 excavation. Soil aeration subject to Air Pollution <br /> Control District guidelines (see above) and the approval <br /> of an off site disposal site. Approved off site information <br /> can be obtained by calling Dave Brent (916)361-5667 California <br /> Regional Water Quality Control Board. <br />
