OBJECTIVE: • <br /> To determine soil contamination in area below underground <br /> gasoline storage tank . The tank has been removed and <br /> initial soil analysis indicate some contamination . See <br /> lab reports attached . SM Tom , <br /> SCOPE OF WORK: <br /> I . Remove back fill from hole where tank had been buried , <br /> approximately 11 feet . Cover removed soil with plastic <br /> to prevent blowing , washing , or soil from being <br /> scattered about . <br /> 2 . Contine soil sample digging hole to approximately 15 <br /> feet deep where a soil sample will be taken and <br /> checked for penetration of contamination . <br /> 3 . Dig a second hole approximately 15 feet deep and x457' <br /> approximately 40 feet away from the first hole in <br /> order to obtain soil samples checking for background <br /> leaks . <br /> 4 . Coordinate with Air Control Board to air out contami- <br /> nated soil which came from removing back fill . <br /> 5 . On completion of soil samples analysis , send copy of <br /> analysis report to Health Department of San Joaquin <br /> County . <br /> 6 . If soil analysis determine soil contamination does not <br /> exist at the 15 foot level , the background soil <br /> sample taken for lead is tolerable , and the Health <br /> Department is satisfied . Then the hole will be back <br /> filled with approved clean soil . <br /> 7 . If contamination does exist at the 15 foot leve , San <br /> Joaquin County Health District will be asked to <br /> determine future action . <br /> JOB LOCATION : 429 W.
