J. H. KLEINFELDER & ASSOATES
REPORT
SOIL AND GROUNDWATER MONITORING
336 EAST LOCUST STREET
LODI, CALIFORNIA
I. INTRODUCTION
The following report summarizes the soil and ground water investigation
performed at 336 East Locust Street in Lodi, California. Mr. Greg Cassebarth
contracted J. H. Kleinfelder do Associates to initiate a site investigation to assess
whether gasoline and related constituents are present in the soil and/or ground water
beneath an underground storage tank formerly located at the site. On October 16,
1985, J. H. Kleinfelder do Associates completed one soil boring and installed one ground
water monitoring well under this contract. This report describes the work elements
associated with the test boring and monitoring well installation and summarizes and
discusses the analytical results obtained to date.
11. BACKGROUND
The facility under investigation is located at 336 East Locust Street in the City
of Lodi, California, as shown on Plate I. Based on conversations with you and
representatives of San Joaquin County Health Department, two underground gasoline
storage tanks with an approximate capacity of 1,000 gallons were removed from this
site. The tanks were buried at an approximate depth of 8 to 10 feet below the
ground surface. The exact construction details are unknown at the present time.
Based on previous work performed in the area, the probable direction of ground water
flow at the site is to the south or southwest.
nJ
