The following items should be addressed in
a revised workplan or addendum to the existing workplan.
Illustrate the previously constructed soil borings and
monitoring wells on a detailed site map, and provide a brief
summary of the work performed on the site to date.
2. Provide scale -drawn cross-sectional diagrams of the
excavation area. This will benefit in graphically
illustrating the proposed sampling locations.
3. The proposed rationale for sampling the excavation area for
diesel constituents is acceptable only for the purpose of
screening the removal area. Verification sampling is
recommended using laboratory analyses EPA 8010/8020; 8015
TPH, Volatile; 3550/8015 TPH, Extractable on those samples
collected to define the "zero line" of vertical and lateral
contamination migration.
4. Dewatering activities proposed in order to facilitate deeper
soils excavation is acceptable provided the following
concerns are considered and addressed:
a. Beta Associates [September 21, 1987, Project #195-
1.1] suggests an off-site contaminant plume in the
vicinity of MW#1. Prior to extraction of groundwater
from the excavation area, water level measurements
should be made and measurements continued throughout
the extraction process.
SERVING
San Joaquin County
City of Manteca
City of Escalon
City of Lodi
City of Tracy
City of Ripon
San Joaquin County
City of Stockton
San Joaquin County
