6.0 SUMMARY/DISCUSSION OF RESULTS
6.1 SAMPLING SCHEME
The soil and groundwater sampling scheme consisted of collecting and retaining for hydrocarbon
constituent laboratory analyses a minimum of two soil samples per boring for borings B-1 through B-4.
Additional soil samples were retained if obvious signs of contamination were noted. A minimum of two
soil samples per boring were collected and retained for hydrocarbon constituent laboratory analyses for
borings B-5 through B-8. The soil samples collected from each of the borings B-5 through B-8 were
composited by the laboratory for analyses. The discrete samples collected from the boring with the
highest composite sample contaminant levels were then submitted for the same analyses. The single
discrete sample from borings B-1 through B-4 and the single discrete sample from borings B-5 through
B-8 with the highest contaminant levels were subsequently submitted for analysis for CAM 17 metals.
The borings in the vicinities of TK1 and TK2 with the most obvious signs of contamination were
advanced to groundwater and a groundwater grab sample was collected from each to be analyzed for
hydrocarbon constituents. A groundwater grab sample was also collected from the abandoned well to be
analyzed for hydrocarbon constituents. The soil samples collected from borings C-1 through C-4 were
analyzed for hydrocarbon constituents and total lead.
6.2 DISCUSSION OF RESULTS
Laboratory analytical results indicate that soil below approximately 16 to 20 feet bgs has not been
impacted by petroleum hydrocarbons at the site.
