Labels should be made of a waterproof material backed with a water-resistant <br /> adhesive. Labels should be filled out using waterproof ink, and should contain at least <br /> the following information: sampling date and time, sample identification number, <br /> investigation location, sampler's initials, and analyses to be conducted. <br /> The sample should then be placed in an ice-chilled cooler for shipment to the laboratory <br /> under strict chain-of-custody (COC)protocols. Coolers should be chilled to 4 degrees <br /> Celsius for shipment to the appropriate analytical laboratory.
