WORK PLAN
Azonic Technology, Inc. intends to install the Enviro Ranger
system at Morton Paint Company with a minimum of distraction
to your day-to-day business. ATI's installations in over 200
sites has provided us with experience in working around daily
business activities, and in leaving the site in "better than
original" condition, and in dealing with regulators.
Initially, the work plan will be to dig three to four ground-
water wells to determine if there is any contamination. Soil
samples at regulator-approved intervals will be taken and
analyzed. Once the analysis results are approved, ATI will
then install the E.R. system. Vadose probe holes will be sunk
into the tanks' backfill (as per attached map) . Trenches will
be run to the E.R. device and sample lines installed. The
trenches will be resurfaced with concrete and "finished" to
match the site environment.
A description of our vadose probe and sample line follows;
Construction Methodology;
Vadose probes: The probe is 3/4" sched. 40 slotted PVC pipe
with 0.010" slots at the bottom 48" of probe. Probes are hand
driven into the backfill of the fuel or waste tank to the
bottom of the fill. Probe is housed in a utility box with a
traffic rated cast iron lid. In areas of existing concrete or
asphalt, the top of the utility box is set 1/4" higher than
surrounding grade to prevent intrusion of rain water or minor
accidental spills. The utility box is set in concrete and
interior space is grouted and sealed with mortar.
Sampling lines: Lines are 3/8" polyethylene tubing from the
probe to the controller valve port connection. Where the sample
lines rise vertically from the ground to the bottom of the
controller sched. 40 PVC conduit is utilized. Should the
location of the riser be deemed by the Fire Department to
warrant metallic conduit, it will be provided. All horizantal
runs above the ground are metallic conduit (EMT) .
All trenches are filled with concrete and approximately finished.
Effort is made to minimize disturbance of all surfaced areas.
All penetrations through vertical walls are weather caulked.
Electrical service is hard wired using 12# copper wire and EMT conduit.
