Soil from the excavation was
stockpiled on site anc6 the excavation was backfilled with pea
gravel . Soil samples were taken at the time of removal and sent
to a testing laboratory. The test results indicated some
contamination of the soil . The stockpiled soil was subsequently
aerated in accordance with the requirements of the San Joaquin
County Air Pcllution Control District .
Our District has chosen to mitigate any remaining site
contamination left in the ground at the site of the removed tank
by complying with the Sar, Joaquin County Environmental Health
Department ' s Pilot Program . One of the first steps in this
process is to request proposals from consultants for mitigation
measures for our site . If you are interested in being considered
for this work please respond to me in writing by April 30 , 1990 .
Interested parties will be contacted and interviewed by May 15 ,
1990 and a consultant selected by May 25 , 1990 .
Please contact me if you have any questions regarding this
matter .
Sincerely,
Michael Carter
Administrative Assistant
copies : U .
