Below is a summary of
each item.
#4 A drain/hole leading to an unknown location was observed in the large truck service bay. It
appeared the grated oil/water separator drain was full so to relieve the flow of fluid the secondary
drain/hole cover was unscrewed and had oily fluids deposited into it.
• There is no secondary drain in the steam bay. There is a drainage cleanout that is to clear the main
drain that leads to the oil/water separator when the main drain gets clogged because muddy vehicles
are steamed and cleaned off in the steam rack.
• There is only one drain in this stall and it leads to the oil/water separator. (See Photo#4)
• There are no drains in the service shop the bypasses the oil/water separator.
• There have been no modifications to the service drainage system since the city approved the original
building plans in 1987.
#10 Sanding waste has been disposed of in the garbage.
• This practice has ceased. Sanding waste is being disposed of in the properly labeled hazardous waste
container.
• See Photo#10
• Michelle Le has informed us,she will be analyzing the waste
#12 a) Transmission was placed on the ground in the shop area next to the large truck bay.
Transmission was leaking fluids onto the ground and down towards the gutter.
• We have one technician for every stall: torn down engines and transmissions do not sit idle for
extended periods of time. Environmental Health policies and practices are reviewed with technicians.
Fluid spills and clean-up will be readdressed at next meeting on April 21 s'.
b) Spent absorbent was observed around the used oil tank in the service area HW storage room.
• Absorbent was put down to clean up spill in HW storage room. The absorbent was cleaned up.
• See Photo#12
c) Transmission fluid and oil observed on the ground in large truck bay.
• Same as#12-a.
d) All of shop drains leading to oil/water separator appeared to be plugged and full.
• Evergreen Environmental Services has already been by to clean out shop drains (done April W).
They have been put on a regular schedule to clean out shop drains.
#19 a) 55 gallon drum of oily debris located in Quick Lube area had an accumulation start date of
1/27/05
• The used absorbent drum in Quick Lane should have an accumulation start date of 1/27/06. It was
improperly labeled. KPA is our Hazardous Waste Compliance consultant firm which does an on-site
inspection—as well as training---every 3-4 months.
b) 55 gallon drum of waste flammable located in body shop HW storage area had an accumulation
start date of 12/8/05
• Upon inspection by our management team, there are actually two waste drums both with accumulation
start dates of 1/31/06, no action was necessary.
• See Photo#19 Drum A1, #19 Drum A2, #19 Drum B1, and#19 Drum B2
