With respect to the items identified <br /> in your Inspection Report of August 17, 21701, Helena Chemical Company has addressed the <br /> following items: <br /> • The three five-gallon buckets contained fertilizer materials that were provided to customers for <br /> appropriate agronomic use shortly after the inspection, and were not hazardous waste(#10, <br /> #19, #21). <br /> • Communication devices for emergency notifications have been provided to employees working <br /> in secondary containment areas or performing transfers of hazardous materials and/or <br /> hazardous waste (#14, #17). <br /> • Helena is implementing daily inspections (#169). <br /> The remaining items noted in the Inspection Report relate to spill control equipment and practices, <br /> secondary containment, and the contingency plan. Helena's environmental consultant, George <br /> Donaldson of Geomatrix, has already visited the site, and Helena is working with other experts to <br /> assess these issues. Eadier'this month, Helena received a letter from the City of Stockton Fire <br /> Department that addressed these issues, among others, and asked that Helena representatives <br /> meet with the City's Fire and Building Divisions.
