This person is also responsible for notifying the <br /> person in charge of the Emergency Response Team. <br /> IN CASE OF BLACKOUT <br /> We have emergency lights placed throughout the plant. If for any reason these <br /> lights fail during a blackout, each department will be equipped with a flashlight. <br /> Most of the time blackouts last for only a few minutes or less. Stay calm and <br /> callout for others,within your department. IF THE BLACKOUT CONTINUES <br /> FOR LONGER THEN FIVE MINUTES,EXIT THE BUILDING. The primary <br /> person in charge will take a head count. This person will then call Joe Billett or <br /> Jeff Wieland to inform him of the situation. <br /> IN CASE OF FIRE <br /> Call or direct somebody to call the Fire Department at 911 <br /> Have the person in charge of the Emergency Response Procedure make the <br /> evacuation announcement and inform department Manager;in person. Attempt <br /> to put out the fire, if appropriate. <br /> Fire extinguishers have been placed throughout the company. You should <br /> know how to use one! Pulling the safety pin activates them. The extinguisher is <br /> held with both hands; one hand on the valve handle,the nozzle is pointed <br /> towards the flame about(5) feet away. Squeeze the handle to allow extinguisher <br /> compound to be released. For complete instructions on the use of a fire <br /> extinguisher,contact an authorized employee. Alert others immediately when <br /> hazardous chemicals spill or a fire is discovered. <br />
