log <br /> • • <br /> G&K SERVICES <br /> 11/01/2011 <br /> Print Towel Processing Statement <br /> Prepared for Pacific Southwest Container <br /> Description of G&K Print Towel Management Process (Cradle to Grave) <br /> Soiled print towels are picked up from customers and transported in plastic-lined, sealed containers by G&K route <br /> drivers who are trained in the applicable hazardous material handling requirements.The containers are securely stored <br /> outside at G&K facilities under shelter. When brought inside for processing the print towels are steam heated to recover <br /> solvents.The solvent vapors are condensed and separated from the water fraction.The water fraction is routed to the <br /> wastewater pretreatment system.The solvent fraction is stored in an aboveground storage tank with proper venting and <br /> secondary containment.A licensed hazardous waste transporter picks up the solvent and transports it to a licensed <br /> hazardous waste transfer facility where the solvent is consolidated for fuel blending.The blended fuels are used in <br /> "mixed-source fuel' burning equipment.Clean,dry print towels are returned to customers for re-use. <br /> Procedures followed to assure environmental compliance with the State of California regulations and policies: <br /> • The waste generating facility(G&K Pittsburg plant) has a proper EPA ID number <br /> • The appropriate organizations have been notified of our waste generation activity <br /> • Solvent wastes are properly characterized,contained, marked and labeled <br /> • Leak detection inspections of solvent extraction and storage equipment and appurtenances are conducted <br /> monthly <br /> • Solvent storage tank inspections are conducted daily <br /> • Solvent storage tank integrity tests are conducted annually <br /> • An up-to-date hazardous waste contingency plan guide our emergency preparedness and response activities <br /> • Employees with hazardous waste related responsibilities are trained annually on applicable hazardous waste <br /> management requirements <br /> • Employees with hazardous materials related responsibilities are trained annually on applicable hazardous <br /> materials management requirements <br /> • Solvent waste generation volumes are tracked and recorded <br /> • Solvent waste transportation and disposition is tracked and recorded on hazardous waste manifests <br /> • Federal Hazardous Waste Reports are submitted biennially <br /> • State Hazardous Waste Reports are submitted annually <br /> • Required records are kept for seven years per G&K policy <br /> 5900 Alder Avenue <br /> Sacramento,Ca 95828 <br /> (800)938-0827 <br /> (916)381-1331 Fax <br /> www.gkseNices.com <br /> Delivering Uniform Service Excellence. <br />
