0 6
met Jay Leslie, Environmental Engineer. I explained the
nature of the inspection to Mr. Leslie who gave me
consent to perform the inspection. Stephen M. Stetzer,
Plant Manager, and Brial Butler, Division Safety Manager,
joined the inspection.
I was taken to an area commonly referred to as the
"pouring area". At this location a 55 gallon drum
labeled as "hazardous waste, methylene chloride urethane"
was maintained to accumulate waste generated during the
foam production.
We continued the inspection at maintenance area where I
observed a container storing what Mr. Setzer identified
as waste contaminated absorbent. This container did not
have a label. I informed Mr. Setzer, and Mr. Leslie that
this container required a hazardous waste label.
Adjacent to the loading bays I observed a 55 gallon drum
containing what Mr. Setzer identified as waste
"Citrikleen" solvent. This drum was not labeled
properly.
We then proceeded to the hazardous waste storage area
located in the north east area of the production floor.
The following violations were noted in this area:
One 55 gallon drum that contained what Mr. Setzer
identified to be "paint waste" was not labeled
correctly.
One 30 gallon drum of contaminated absorbent was
stored in a container without a label.
Several six volt batteries were not stored
correctly.
Two 55 gallon drums that contained "T-204" were not
marked with the accumulation start date.
One 55 gallon drum, labeled as "paint thinner
waste" , was stored on site greater than 90 days
without a permit or authorization.
One 55 gallon container labeled a "paint waste" was
not marked with the start date of accumulation.
One five gallon container of 111XK Jet-Printer
Waste" did not have a label.
We then took a tour of the truck shop located on the
north east portion of the property. In the truck shop
was a 30 gallon container used to store contaminated
absorbent that did not have a label. Adjacent to the
