Foley, R.E.H.S.
Environmental Health Department, San Joaquin county
304 Weber Avenue
Stockton, CA 95202-2708
RE: Stockton Facility
Dear Ms. Foley
I have replaced Lonnie J Kellar as contact for Sierra Chemical Co. I regret to inform you
that Lonnie passed away recently. During the review of Lonnie's files I have found some
outstanding issues. Those being waste material located at our Stockton Facility.
The first waste is approximately 30 drums of transite material and soil. We would p K—
propose to dispose of it at the Forward Landfill as Transite (ACM) & soil. The material
would be transported in a roll off bin double wrapped in visqueen
The second waste is diatomaceous earth from the filtering system at our Stockton
Facility. A composite of the material has been prepared and submitted to Western
Environmental Testing Laboratory a California Certified Lab. The material was analyzed
for the Caml7 elements. Chromium was present so it was run for TCLP. Aquatic
Testing Laboratories performed a Title 22-Fathead Minnow Hazardous Waste Screen
Bioassay. The enclosed analysis results indicate the material is not hazardous waste. We
would intend to dispose of it as such.
We are still developing a plan to dispose of the material in the poly tank that you sampled
and did not pass the Title 22-Fathead Minnow Waste Screen.
If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to contact me at (775) 358-0888.
Si*Regutlory
o.mingsComp
ce Manager
CC: Stan Kinder
Lynn Kinder
" SPARKS ♦ BATTLE MOUNTAIN ♦ STOCKTON ♦ ROCKLIN
