CITY OF MANTICA' S HAZARDOUS MATERIAL STORAGE PERMIT
From a phone conversation with Mike Foley of the Manteca Fire
Department, the fire department does not presently issue a
Hazardous Material Storage Permit as required by most
municipalities . In addition, the fire department does not
enforce any hazardous chemical storage requirements other than
those stated in the Uniform Fire and Building Codes . However,
there has been discussion regarding the issuance of Hazardous
Material Storage Permits in the future, but there is still no
foreseen date as to when .
As an indication of INDY's efforts to comply with the Uniform
Fire and Building Codes regarding hazardous chemical containment,
INDY has been in frequent contact with the Manteca Fire and
Building Departments regarding the plans to upgrade the hazardous
waste storage area . INDY does not wish to undertake any project
without approval from the regulating agencies .
