Mr.Carlos Abarca stated that they don't provide hazardous waste training. but <br /> will initiate it as soon as possible. The generator must ensure that all employees who handle hazardous waste are <br /> thoroughly familiar with proper waste handling and emergency procedures. Immediately provide training to all <br /> employees who handle hazardous waste and submit a copy of the training records to the EHD.A schedule of free EHD <br /> classes was provided. This Is a Class II violation. <br /> Mr.Jim Clare and Mr. Carlos Abarca, Pacific Southwest Irrigation, met with George W. Lowry, Inc. Personnel Richard <br /> Lowry and Colin Kelly on December 26,2015. Lowry was asked to assist in helping Pacific Southwest Irrigation become <br /> compliant. On December 29,2015 upon review of the EHD inspection's initial report a discussion ensued and a simple <br /> Work Plan was developed and also a program was designed to assist Pacific Southwest Personnel be given Emergency <br /> Procedures and Hazardous Waste Training. Further it was apparent that the training must pertain to all employees <br /> working on installing pipeline and working with any Hazardous Materials and Hazardous Wastes. <br /> Mr. Matt Gibbons was assigned to work with George W. Lowry,Inc.Personnel to develop a SPCC plan and to take a 24 <br /> • Hour Hazwoper class gaining certification to assist in to developing a plan to respond to any PSWI site Hazardous <br /> Material and/or emergency's. Mr Matt Gibbons completed online 24 Hour Hazwoper training on February 18,2015 <br /> Both Mr. Matt Gibbons and Mr. Carlos Abarca are to take an online 4 hour Title 22 Hazardous Waste Training <br /> certification. <br /> Safety Training was given on February 9, 2015, by Richard Lowry, George W. Lowry, Inc. to 40 employees of Pacific <br /> Southwest Irrigation on the following subjects Hazardous Materials, Hazardous Waste, and the Spill Preventions <br /> Control and Countermeasures. General Awareness,Basic Safety Training,Function Specific,Haz-Comm/Right to Know <br /> (Safety Data Sheets, SDS), Material Interaction, Hazmat Security, Other Environmental Hazards were also covered <br /> subjects. A quiz was given and passed by all. <br /> See attached Back Up Materials on Training. <br />
