s •
Lot#: D6I060141
Case Narrative
Enclosed is the report for two samples received at STL's Denver laboratory on September 6,2006.The
results included in this report have been reviewed for compliance with Laboratory Quality Manual. The
test results shown in this report meet all requirements of NELAC and any exceptions are noted below.
This report may include data with reporting limits(RLs)less than STL's standard reporting limit. These
data and reporting limits are being used specifically to meet the needs of this project. Note that, data are
not customarily reported to these levels without qualifiers, because they are inherently less reliable and
potentially less defensible than the latest industry standards require. Please contact STL's for more
details.
Dilution factors and footnotes have been provided to assist in the interpretation of the results. Each
sample was analyzed to achieve the lowest possible reporting limit within the constraints of the method.
In some cases, due to interferences or analytes present at concentrations above the linear calibration
curve, samples were diluted. For diluted samples, the reporting limits are adjusted relative to the dilution
required.
STL utilizes USEPA approved methods in all analytical work. The samples presented in this report were
analyzed for the parameters listed on the analytical methods summary page in accordance with the
methods indicated. A summary of quality control parameters is provided below.
This report shall not be reproduced except in full, without the written approval of the laboratory.
Quality Control Summary for Lot D6I060141
Sample Receiving
The cooler temperature upon receipt at the Denver laboratory was 1.7°C.
One of the two sulfuric acid bottles was received broken. Sufficient volume remained for Oil&Grease
analysis. All VOA vials contained approximately 5-10mm headspace.
Al other sample bottles were received in acceptable condition.
Holding Times
The analytical parameters were performed within established holding times.
Method Blanks
Trace levels of the common laboratory contaminants, Acetone and Methylene chloride,as well as
Toluene were detected in the Method 8260B blank associated with QC batch 6258465. Additionally,
Diesel Range Organics and Specific Conductance were detected at trace levels in method blanks
associated with Methods 8015B and 120.1,respectively. Because all method blank detections were less
than the reporting limit,no corrective action was necessary.
All other Method Blanks were within established control limits.
Laboratory Control Samples (LCS)
All Laboratory Control Sample results were within established control limits.
