California Delta. TNBR site is divided by Rio Blanco Road. The portion south of Rio
Blanco Road is paved (concrete) and generally slopes down to the water. The portion
north of Rio Blanco Road includes a building, a parking area, concrete slab and graveled
area. Used sandblast sand was spread on the ground at the north east corner of the site.
This area drains generally to the west, all as shown in Figure 2. Photos of the used
sandblast sand spread on the ground follow Figure 2.
3.0 Cleanup Activities
` Cleanup proceeded sequentially as outlined in the Work Plan and Addendum, as follows:
1. Used sand and soil were picked up and placed on a plastic sheet and covered with
a plastic sheet. This contaminated soil was later transferred to a covered bin and
labeled, as directed by the SJCEHD. Samples were taken and analyzed for copper,
TTLC and STLC.
b, 2. Four background samples were taken(Bl —B4) and analyzed for copper and zinc
(TTLC). The results were reviewed with Mr. Bill Kilgore at DTSC prior to
` proceeding to confirmation sampling.
3. Six confirmation samples were taken (C 1 —C6) and analyzed for copper (TTLC).
The results indicated a need to remove additional soil from all locations. Two
samples were taken (locations Cl and C4) a few inches below the surface to
provide guidance as to how much additional soil needed to be removed to reach
acceptable levels of copper and zinc.
4. Additional soil was removed from all locations (Cl —C6). Soil from locations Cl,
C2, C3 and C6 was placed in a container for non-hazardous material. Soil from
L
locations C4 and C5 was placed in the hazardous materials bin. Samples were
taken from all locations following soil removal, and analyzed for copper and zinc
L
(TTLC).
L
2
L
