(MESI)responded to a request by Don Snow to respond to an oil leak from
container#XTRZ239681. MI✓S1 received a load inventory from UPRR and proceeded to unload the container
removing oil-impacted debris, plastic, cardboard and drumming the material for disposal to a Califomia certified
disposal facility. A 330-gallon steel cased tote with a polyvinyl liner containing hydraulic oil was leaking from the
top due to a threaded bung that had become displaced_ The motion of the train caused the oil to!slosh across several
packages and penetrate the floor, MESI decontaminated the container inside and out, degreased and dry absorbed
the gondola car which was impacted by the leak, and performed dry recovery on the impacted concrete adjacent to
the rail spur_ it is estimated that twenty gallons or less was released. NE-SI shipped the wasted associated with the i
cleanup in two 55-galicn drums on California Hazardous Waste Manifest#20516037.
If there are any questions or comments regarding this or any other operational details please contact me at(510)
267-0134.
Sincere
L
D.Pelletier
Morgan Environmental Services.Inc.
ZO
l
I
I
f
I
