Code of Regulations (CCR)as the basis for evaluation. In addition, the unique properties <br /> and behavior of the carbon steel materials is considered in the evaluation and final rating of the <br /> tank shell and its various components. j <br /> The following rating schedule is applicable only to chemical or physical deterioration of <br /> the tank and/or its components. The ability of the tank andlits lugs to withstand seismic or <br /> hydrostatic loads is not part of this rating process. <br /> IO TANK RATING <br /> UNUSABLE: The tank shell and/or cne of its components has deteriorated to the extent that <br /> continued usage of the tank presents an immediate safety hazard. The tank must be <br /> I <br /> temporarily removed from service within one week after inspection and either repaired or <br /> permanently removed from service. If repair is undertaken] a complete inspection will be <br /> performed with the tank empty and full. A new inspection schedule shall then be recommended <br /> not to exceed six month intervals. <br /> i <br /> POOR: The tank shell and/or one of its components has deteriorated to the extent that <br /> continued usage of this tank will present a safety hazard in the near future (less than one year). <br /> If possible, the tank must be repaired within 3 months of initial inspection or permanently <br /> removed from service. If repair is to be attempted and immediately after repair has been <br /> completed, a complete inspection will be performed with the tank empty and full. A new <br /> inspection schedule shall then be recommended, not to exceed one year intervals. <br />
