1" KLEINFELDER
November 5, 1987
File: 24-2075-1
Mr. Keith A. Tallia
Oil Equipment Service
P.O. Box 950
San Andreas, CA 95249
SUBJECT: Soil Sampling; 100 Ventura Street, Stockton
Dear Mr. Tallia:
Kleinfelder was retained by Oil Equipment Service to perform soil sampling
for chemical analysis. No site investigation or data analysis was
included in the scope of work. Enclosed are the analytical results for
the soil sample collected from the site at 100 Ventura Street, Stockton,
California.
Summary of Work
On October 15, 1987, one 5,000 gallon underground tank was excavated and
removed by Oil Equipment Services and the tank backfill material was
removed down to native soil. This tank reportedly contained diesel fuel.
Ms. Donna Heran, Registered Sanitarian, of the San Joaquin Local Health
District specified the sampling location and chemical analyses.
Sample 31336 was collected by Kleinfelder from the bottom of the south end
of the excavation (where the tank fill spout had been located) at a depth
of approximately 15 feet below grade. The sample was collected by driving
a brass tube into soil extracted from the pit by a backhoe. The brass
tube was then capped with aluminum foil and plastic end caps and was
stored in an iced sample container. The sample was submitted under
chain-of-custody to CHEMWEST Analytical Laboratories, Inc. in Sacramento.
The sample was analyzed for total petroleum hydrocarbons by GC-FID and
purgeable aromatic compounds (BTX) by EPA 8020.
All constituents analyzed were below laboratory reporting limits except
for TPH (as diesel) detected at 130 mg/kg. Laboratory data sheets and a
chain-of-custody form are included at the end of this report.
GS„/6% I.
11
13ttL711 t
KLEINFELDER 9795 Business Park Drive, Suite C, Sacramento, CA 95827 (916) 366-1701 7_ Z 7/2
