The field geologist has the authority to suspend work <br /> any time he or she finds that the provisions of this Plan <br /> are inadequate for worker safety . The field geologist will <br /> promptly inform the Project Manager and the Health and <br /> Safety coordinator of any deficiency within the Plan or <br /> individuals or subcontractors whose conduct is not <br /> consistent with the requirements of this Plan . <br /> SAFETY AND ORIENTATION MEETING <br /> Field personnel from Roger Foott Associates , Inc . , and <br /> its subcontractors will attend a project-specific training <br /> meeting for safety issues and review the project tasks <br /> before beginning work . The meeting will be led by the field <br /> geologist . <br /> GENERAL PROJECT SAFETY REQUIREMENTS <br /> Project activities will be conducted in accordance with <br /> the following minimum safety requirements : <br /> • Eating, drinking, and smoking will be restricted <br /> to a designated area outside of the work area . <br /> • The field geologist will be responsible for taking <br /> necessary steps to protect employees from physical <br /> hazards , including : <br /> - Falling objects , such as tools or equipment <br /> - Falls from elevations <br /> - Tripping over hoses , pipes , tools , or equipment <br /> - Slipping on wet or oily surfaces <br /> - Insufficient or faulty protective equipment <br /> - Insufficient or faulty equipment or tools <br /> ROGER FOOTT ASSOCIATES, INC. <br />
