SECTION 02071 <br />UNDERGROUND TANK REMOVAL <br />PART 1 - GENERAL <br />1.01 DESCRIPTION <br />A. The Contract Conditions form a part of this Section. <br />B. Work Included in This Section: <br />1. Removal and off-site disposal of the following underground tank as <br />shown on the Drawings and specified herein: <br />a. One (1) 2,000 gallon diesel fuel tank. <br />2. Removal and disposal off-site of piping and appurtenances as shown <br />on the Drawings or specified herein. <br />C. Soil sampling and monitoring will be performed by the Engineer. <br />1.02 REQUIREMENTS OF REGULATORY AGENCY <br />A. General: Federal, State, and local laws, codes, ordinances and <br />regulations which apply to this work shall be rigidly followed by the <br />Contractor. It is the Contractor's responsibility to resolve any <br />discrepancies between Drawings and Specifications and such laws and to <br />first consult with the Engineer before starting any work. <br />B. San Joaquin Local Health District: Removal and disposal of the tanks, <br />piping and appurtenances shall be in conformance with the requirements <br />of the San Joaquin Local Health District regulations regarding this <br />work. Contractor shall obtain a permit for underground tank closure <br />from the Health District prior to performing the work. <br />C. San Joaquin County Fire Prevention: Removal and disposal of the tank, <br />piping and appurtenances shall be in accordance with the requirements <br />of the San Joaquin County Fire Prevention for this work. Contractor <br />shall obtain appropriate fire district permits prior to performing the <br />work. <br />D. State: California Code of Regulations, Title 23, Chapter 3 Water <br />Resources Control Board, Subchapter 16 Underground Tank Regulations. <br />E.
