, 1U-17-91 5NI Inv OCT FUEL MONITORING SYST FOR "rIO ,MENTA L HEAirN STOCKTON SERVICE CENTER F•SERVl'�ES 1) UngQrqrou d -S eUnk The facility has two 10, 000-gallon underground tanks used for storing cd motor-vehicle fuel and diesel fuel, and they are located south of the Garage Building. They are double-walled fiberglass-clad steel tanks which are compatible with the stored Fluids. The tanks and the associated piping have continua leak (TLS254 and a Rowan Series X76, see attached) . one s located in the tank; one in the annular space; and one in the pipeline collection sump. Tha monitoring system activates anlight alarm in the Garage ; Building.` If an a arm s activated, an assessment to determine the cause will begin and may include leak testing. The tanks .fill-pipes are equipped with 20-gallon overfill boxes which are Product-tight to contain spills due to overfilling. The dispenser nozzles used for filling vehicles from this tan% are equipped with automatic shut--off devices . The Garage Foreman is responsible for the tanks and their contents. Possible Spill Occurrence: Overfilling; The greatest spill potential is from overfilling during the fuel transfer process (i. e. , filling the tank) . Spill prevention consists of constant supervis during the filling process. Any fuel spilled during the filling process would be contained in the overfill box. 2) Tra ' nc�. nd Use of the Monitoring Sv em All responsible personnel will be trained following the new installation. The Garage Foreman Will be responsible tain an adequate number of trained employees to 'age the monitoring system. The monitoring equipment Will be visually observed daily by the GaragA_Boreman or his designate. The monitoring equipment is located in a Position where it is visible to all Garage personnel.
