, 1U-17-91 5NI <br /> Inv <br /> OCT <br /> FUEL MONITORING SYST <br /> FOR "rIO ,MENTA L HEAirN <br /> STOCKTON SERVICE CENTER F•SERVl'�ES <br /> 1) <br /> UngQrqrou d -S eUnk <br /> The facility has two 10, 000-gallon underground tanks used <br /> for storing cd motor-vehicle fuel and diesel fuel, <br /> and they are located south of the Garage Building. They <br /> are double-walled fiberglass-clad steel tanks which are <br /> compatible with the stored Fluids. The tanks and the <br /> associated piping have continua leak <br /> (TLS254 and a Rowan Series X76, see attached) . one s <br /> located in the tank; one in the annular space; and one in <br /> the pipeline collection sump. Tha monitoring system <br /> activates anlight alarm in the Garage ; <br /> Building.` If an a arm s activated, an assessment to <br /> determine the cause will begin and may include leak <br /> testing. The tanks .fill-pipes are equipped with <br /> 20-gallon overfill boxes which are Product-tight to <br /> contain spills due to overfilling. The dispenser nozzles <br /> used for filling vehicles from this tan% are equipped <br /> with automatic shut--off devices . The Garage Foreman is <br /> responsible for the tanks and their contents. His phone <br /> number is (249) 942-1525. All tank monitoring equipment <br /> is located on the south wall of Garage Building. <br /> Possible Spill Occurrence: <br /> Overfilling; The greatest spill potential is from <br /> overfilling during the fuel transfer <br /> process (i. e. , filling the tank) . Spill <br /> prevention consists of constant supervis <br /> during the filling process. Any fuel <br /> spilled during the filling process would be <br /> contained in the overfill box. <br /> 2) Tra ' nc�. nd Use of the Monitoring Sv em <br /> All responsible personnel will be trained following the <br /> new installation. The Garage Foreman Will be responsible <br /> tain an adequate number of trained employees to <br /> 'age the monitoring system. The monitoring equipment <br /> Will be visually observed daily by the GaragA_Boreman or <br /> his designate. The monitoring equipment is located in a <br /> Position where it is visible to all Garage personnel. <br />
