0 <br /> Specification No . : RGS0024-87 <br /> Part II - SPECIFIC CONDITIONS <br /> Section 3 - Definitions and <br /> Standards <br /> SECTION 3 - DEFINITIONS AND STANDARDS <br /> 3 . 0 This section defines terms and abbreviations used in <br /> these specification. <br /> 3 . 1 Related Documents : <br /> Project plans and general conditions of the Pacific Gas & <br /> Electric Company apply to work of this section. <br /> 3 . 2 Definitions : <br /> 3 . 2 . 1 General Explanation : A substantial amount of <br /> specification language constitutes definitions for terms <br /> found in other contract documents , including drawings <br /> which must be recognized as diagramatic in nature and not <br /> completely descriptive of requirements indicated thereon . <br /> Certain terms used in specifications , drawings , and <br /> contract documents are defined generally in this article . <br /> Definitions and explanations of this section are not <br /> necessarily either complete or exclusive , but are general <br /> for the work to extent not stated more explicitly in <br /> another provision of the contract documents . <br /> 3 . 2. 2 General Conditions : General Requirements apply to entire <br /> work of Contract and , where so indicated , to other <br /> elements which are included in project . <br /> 3 . 2. 3 Indicated : The term "Indicated " is a cross-reference to <br /> details , notes or schedules on drawings , to other <br /> paragraphs of schedules requirements in contract documents . <br /> Where terms such as " shown" , "noted " , " scheduled " , and <br /> " specified" are used in lieu of " indicated" , it is for <br /> purpose of helping reader locate cross -reference , and no <br /> limitation of location is intended except as specifically <br /> noted . <br /> 3 . 2 . 4 Directed , Requested , etc . : Where not otherwise explained , <br /> terms such as " directed " , " requested " , authorized " , <br /> "' selected " , " approved , " " required , " " accepted , " and <br /> "permitted " mean "directed by Engineer " , "requested by <br /> Engineer " , etc . However , no such implied meaning will be <br /> interpreted to extend Engineer ' s responsibility into <br /> Contractor ' s area of construction supervision. <br /> 3 . 2 . 5 A22rove : Where used in conjunction with Architect ' s / <br /> • Engineer ' s response to submittals , requests , applications , <br /> inquiries , reports and claims by contractor , the meaning <br /> of terms " approved " will be held to limitations of <br /> III-1 <br />
