Specification No . : RGS0024-87 <br /> Part IT - SPECIFIC CONDITIONS <br /> Section 8 - Project Closeout <br /> SECTION 8 - PROJECT CLOSEOUT <br /> 8 . 0 This section describes methods and procedures for <br /> closing out the project . <br /> 8 . 1 Related Documents : <br /> Drawings , general conditions of the Pacific Gas and <br /> Electric Company , and other related specification sections , <br /> apply to work of this section . <br /> 8 . 2 Description of Requirements : <br /> 8 . 2 . 1 Definitions : Closeout is hereby defined to include <br /> general requirements near end of Contract time , in <br /> preparation for final acceptance , final payment , normal <br /> termination of contract , occupancy by P . G . & E . and <br /> similar actions evidencing completion of the work . <br /> Specific requirements for individual units of work are <br /> specified in sections 2 through 14 . Time of closeout is <br /> directly related to " Substantial Completion , " and <br /> therefore may be either a single time period for entire <br /> work or a series of time period for individual parts of <br /> the work which have been certified as substantially <br /> complete at different dates . That time variation ( if <br /> any ) shall be applicable to other provisions of this <br /> section. <br /> 8 . 3 Prerequisites to Substantial Completion : <br /> 8 . 3 . 1 General : Prior to requesting Engineer ' s inspection for <br /> certification of substantial completion ( for either <br /> entire work or portions thereof ) , complete the following <br /> and list known exceptions in the request : <br /> - Include supporting documentation for completion as <br /> indicated in these contract documents . <br /> - Advise Engineer and P . G . & E . or pending insurance <br /> change-over requirements . <br /> - Submit specific warranties , workmanship/ maintenance <br /> bonds , maintenance agreements , final certifications , <br /> and similar documents . <br /> Obtain and submit releases enabling P .G . & E . ' s full <br /> and unrestricted use of the work and access to <br /> services and utilities , including ( where required ) <br /> occupancy permits , operating certificates , and similar <br /> releases . <br /> VIII-1 <br />
