Through correspondence received by your consultant,Andy Safford of EKI, we are <br /> aware that you have taken the appropriate steps to notify San Joaquin County Public Health <br /> ' Services Environmental Health Division (PHS/EHD)- <br /> On Thursday, May 9, 2002, Port staff conducted a site visit of the UST. After inspecting the site, <br /> staff representatives concurred that the removal of the UST would jeopardize the structural <br /> integrity of the electrical power generation turbine. <br /> It is our understanding that POSDEF has drained the remaining contaminants of the tank, <br /> ' conducted a complete soil analysis of the site, and has concluded that removal of the tank <br /> would jeopardize the structural integrity of POSDEF's electrical power generation turbine. We <br /> agree with this conclusion and will allow you to close the UST in if you comply with the <br /> tappropriate procedures required by the PHSlEHD and appropriate regulatory agencies. <br /> acknowledge the existence of the UST per State and Federal regulations.
