The waste oil tank is the only permitted underground tank at the POSDEF facility. The maximum volume of containment is 1,000 gallons
of waste oil and is manufactured with an intergral secondary containment system. The secondary containment system consists of a 10 gauge
steel outer shell that completely wraps the inner shell or primary tank. The outer shell of the tank is coated with polyurethane and is
equipped with a sacrificial anode cathodic protection system to resist the effects of soil corrosion. The fill spout of the waste oil tank is also
equipped with secondary containment ass shown on figure 5. This secondary containment system is primarily intended to capture spills
resulting from POSDEF personnel emptying waste oil from hand held containers into the tank. Captured oil is returned to the waste oil tank
by opening a spring loaded valve on the secondary containment system.
meal w u7iln '
.ml.yL[aval
wcs°cm"na•rr
rr s.aar
1'SaKy4
Law[c w,.v1
A I
/ _--
7O9i*IEE-UP I I
Ol IaNw J I p
I I
aNLle SKlI r I
I I
A MEM LAM OIL TANK M ..
1
E OIL r-KI $7 1
I
L______________
- i SIDE VIE END VIEW
I
£ Ec1aR &
KaNWwakk he.
Secondary Contolnmenl:
' WPM, E11I tank
vsLL COU1Y I,sNe enc eM N.rr of Imt eeaw
I rn..dm+"din Ca..Ire.a .g, VOSaEF Vara Ca„LV.
dolts T W, .199/ane 5,1h. m C.r.LA
Enrrp:ae usA.he.me.inp dated unY 1997
7t atmn 99t.
