The site will be reported to "U.S.A" (Underground <br /> Service Alert ) a minimum of 48 hours prior to <br /> beginning excavation of tanks. <br /> Item 3. The Fire Prevention Bureau issues their permit <br /> following' the Health Department . It is understood <br /> that the Fire Department permit will be acquired <br /> prior to the tank removal . <br /> Item 6. The tank and piping will be decontaminated by <br /> "triple rinsing" with a 2,000 psi pressure washer <br /> with a solution of biodegradable soap at a <br /> temperature of 180 degrees. The rinsate and <br /> residual fuel will be recycled . All liquids shall <br /> be handled as hazardous waste with a manifest pro- <br /> vided to S.J.��i� H.D. T- asportation w; 11 be su plied <br /> by : y� JYLa!�EQV2oLc Grr:�- <br /> __ ��dJ�i� The <br /> tanks and piping will be recycled as scrap me al <br /> aftYT decontamination t : L8 ✓/it1 /77CTi9 ,Qlo <br /> Item B. Sample(s) will be obtained below tank invert as per <br /> the attached Sampling Protocal For Routine Tani. <br /> Removals. Grab method , using brass or stain-less <br /> steel tubes will be employed to collect and preserve <br /> samples taken from backhoe bucket 2" below soil <br /> surface. Samples will be obtained approximately 3' <br /> to 4 ' below tank , in native soil . Piping runs in <br /> excess of 20 ' shall be sampled at 20' intervals, as <br /> directed by S.J.L.H.D. <br /> Item 10. The tank will be purged with dry ice, using a <br /> minimum of fifteen ( 15) pounds per 1 ,000 gallon tank <br /> capacity. Minimum of ten ( 10) pounds of dry ice will <br /> be used on tanks with less than 1 ,000 gallons ca- <br /> pacity. Tanks will be identified with high <br /> visibility paint using S.J.L.H.D . tank tracking <br /> numbers. <br />
