NEW UNDERGROUND STORAGE TANKS - PLAN ADDITION/CORRECTION SHEET <br />The following checked and/or underlined items are to be addressed on plans: <br />GENERAL <br />V 1. Provide the name and address of the facility. <br />J2. Provide the name, address, and phone numbers of the contractor(s), facility <br />owner(s), and operator(s). <br />✓ 3. Provide four complete sets of plans. (One to be retained by this office). <br />Include specification sheets, equipment brochures, monitoring, and response <br />plans. <br />�4. Provide plans to scale in nonerasable blueprint. <br />CONSTRUCTION STANDARDS <br />✓ 1. Location(s) and number of tanks. <br />V 2. ;"e of tank(s) to be installed. <br />A. Steel clad with fiberglass reinforced plastic. <br />1. 35,000 to 40,000 volt Holiday Test required before "setting" tank(s) <br />in ground. <br />B. Fiberglass <br />1. Striker plate dimensions and materials. <br />2. Striker plates under all accessible openings. <br />C. Nonclad steel <br />1. Cathodic protection provided (including nuts, bolts, washers, etc.). <br />a. Approved by a corrosion engineer or NACE technician. <br />b. Document stating inspection method and frequency (Minimum semi- <br />annual inspection required). <br />D. Other types of tanks <br />/ 1. Construction specification standards for durability. <br />✓ 3. Tank Capacity (List specific gallonage). <br />�4. Contents to be stored in each tank (Be specific). <br />A. Verificat'ion of product compatability with the tank(s), piping, monitoring <br />device(s), epoxy or silicone glues, etc. <br />1. List testing organization and approval. <br />5. Provide manufacturers written installation instructions. (Include all piping, <br />monitors, tanks, etc. <br />Note - NFPA 30 Test required before covering tank and systems. NFPA 30 Test <br />is required—on BOTH the Primary and Secondary containment systems. <br />Double walled tanks using pressure or vacuum testing to monitor annular <br />space are exempt from testing secondary container. <br />Note - NFPA 329 "Precision Test" required upon completion of installations. <br />One test result copy to be sent directly to this department from the <br />testing company. <br />
