PUB11C HEALTH SEtVICES
SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY Q
JOGI KHANNA M.D.,MTR
Health Officer c. P
P.O. Box 2009 . (1601 East Hazelton Avenue) Stockton,California 95201
(209) 468-3400
July 12,1990
Mr. Sam Cloud
367 S. Del Mar Ave.
Stockton, CA. 95205
RE: 5681 E. Marsh, Stockton
Public Health Services - Environmental Health Division (PHS-EHD) has identified
several existing conditions which require assessment prior to the issuance of any
County Building permits for the above referenced premise. These conditions are
as follows:
1. The septic tank located on the premise has not been properly abandoned.
This existing tank shall be properly destroyed under permit and inspection
by Public Health Services - Environmental Health Division (PHS-EHD) , within
30 days of the date of this letter.
2. Soil contaminated with heavy metals (i.e. , lead) may be evident at the site
due to past use as an auto wreaking yard. A site assessment shall be
completed by an environmental engineering firm to identify any residual
contamination which may be present at the site.
3. A waste oil sump was identified at the above premise. A survey and
assessment by an environmental engineering firm shall be completed to
determine the location and any possible contamination resulting from past
use of this sump.
4. An underground storage tank was closed-in-place at the above premise.
A compaction study shall be completed by an engineering firm in order to
determine the stability of the earth at this location.
All work shall be completed under the inspection and review of PHS-EHD.
Please note the above requirements do not prevent resale of the property, but
would prevent the issuance of County Building permits pending the completion of
all items listed above.
If you have any further questions concerning this matter, please contact Doug
Wilson, Supervising RENS, at (209) 468-3446.
Mogi Khanna, M.D. , M.P.H.
He41tth-Af f ice
.% .
Rona_ Director
Environmental Health Division
RV/dw
cc: Co.
