Obtain a permit for removal from the local Fire Prevention Agency <br /> and the local Environmental Health Department, if required. <br /> 2. Tank(s) are to be rendered product free prior to removal. <br /> a. Fifty (50) pounds of dry ice per 1,000 gallons of tank <br /> capacity for flammable or combustible materials is to be <br /> introduced into each tank. <br /> 3. Notify local Fire Prevention Bureau and Environmental Health <br /> Department 48 hours in advance for inspection of tank removal. <br /> 4. All tanks are to be removed from the property on the same day that <br /> the tanks are taken from underground. <br /> 5. All lines connected to tank(s) are to be completely removed. <br /> 6. All electrical service to tanks is to be terminated and removed in <br /> accordance with the local Building Department Electrical Code. <br /> 7. Soil samples are to be taken from the site for analysis for the <br /> presence of contaminants. <br /> a. The location and manner of sampling is to be determined by a <br /> soils engineer in accordance with applicable codes. <br /> 8. The samples are to be submitted to an approved laboratory for <br /> analysis. <br /> 9. The results of the analysis are to be provided to the Regional <br /> Water Quality Control Board and the local Fire Prevention Bureau. <br /> 10. If evidence of contamination is present, a clean up program which <br /> is approved by the Regional Water Quality Control Board will be <br /> formulated and executed. The local Fire Prevention Bureau is to <br /> be provided with documentation of Regional Water Quality Control <br /> Board approval by the responsible tank owner. <br /> 11. When an excavation is not to be immediately backfilled, a fenced <br /> enclosure is to be erected around the open excavation. <br /> 12. H & H Ship Service is to dispose of tank(s). <br />
