Jeff Wong [EH]
From: Dan Peterson <dpeterson@petersonhyd.com>
Sent: Friday,August 08, 2014 10:37 AM
To: Jeff Wong [EH]
Subject: RTD fuel permit
Hi Jeff, s
I reviewed our drawings for information on the above ground piping from the UST's. !
Sheet one, "scope of work"of the submitted drawings states that the above ground piping will be double wall i
steel. This is also shown on FS 2.1.6.
i
Leak monitoring of the above ground piping will be as follows:
The piping will slope back to the transition sump located in the fuel room. Any leaks into the secondary piping will be i
sensed by the liquid sensor in this sump. The sump sensor will then shut down the turbine pumps. NFPA 30 requires
that all aboveground piping shall be able to be visually inspected. The addition of a double wall system for this piping
requires that the proposed system for leak monitoring by the Veeder Root system be utilized. See drainage pipe shown
on FS 9.01 detail 3.
I have attached the building permit receipts for your reference. I have also requested a letter regarding the Fire
Department permit. I was just informed that the SPCC plan will not be needed until the tanks are ready to be filled.
Please let me know if the above information is adequate for issuance of this permit.
Thank you for your efforts on our behalf.
Daniel G.
