24 March 2014
AGE Project No. 14-3034
2.2. FINDINGS
A total of six soil samples from the UST excavation and eight stockpile samples were
collected during the March 2014 UST removal. The following is a summary of results:
TPH-d were detected in the two western samples from each UST over 10,000
milligrams per kilogram (mg/kg), from samples collected at the base of the excavation at
15 feet bsg (Tank #1- West/East) and from the center tank samples at 280 and 410
mg/kg samples Tank#1-Center and Tank#2-Center, respectively. TPH-d were detected
in the composited soil sample (SP-1,2) at 1,600 mg/kg; and the remaining soil had
detection over 100 mg/kg and one sample had a detection of 6,800 mg/kg. Minor
detection of toluene, ethyl-benzene and total xylene were detected in the UST and
stockpile samples at concentrations of less than 0.1 mg/kg.
No additional constituents of concern were reported above laboratory detection limits in
the soil samples analyzed. Analytical results are summarized in Table 1. The laboratory
reports (CTEL Project No. CT214-1403065 and 1403066), QA/QC reports, and chain of
custody forms are included in Appendix C.
5.0. SUMMARY/CONCLUSIONS
Based on field evidence of hydrocarbon impact, gray stained soil was observable in the
tank excavation from approximately 15 feet bsg. AGE proposes additional soil to be
excavated from the tank pit after removing the UST.
If you have any questions regarding this matter, please contact our office at (800) 511-
9300.
Sincerely,
S IWL GEpt
Advanced GeoEnv' a ,
* No. 7473
S u '
William R.
