Based on the size of the facility and emergency equipment available on <br /> site,only small releases can safely be addressed. A large release can only be addressed with assistance <br /> from emergency response personnel and/or a clean up contractor. <br /> Emergency Equipment <br /> Emergency equipment maintained on site is limited to fire extinguishers,absorbent,and water hoses. <br /> Additional equipment can be brought on site if necessary,as well as emergency clean up personnel. <br /> Employee Training <br /> Each employee, during initial employment and annually thereafter, is instructed in the basics of hazardous <br /> materials handling and emergency response. The training program consists of,as a minimum,the following <br /> areas: <br /> 1. Hazard Communication Standard. <br /> 2. Methods for safe handling of hazardous materials. <br /> 3. Proper use of safety equipment. <br /> 4. Responding to emergencies. <br /> 5. Emergency evacuation procedures. <br /> 6. Procedures for cooperation with local emergency response departments. <br /> The facility manager is responsible for administering the training program and insuring that each employee <br /> has been trained in hazardous materials procedures.
