Shaw a Clovis, California 93812 • (209)299-1746 <br /> Site Specific Safety Plan <br /> An Emergency Action and Contingency Plan for Control of Hazardous Materials <br /> for <br /> ULTRAMAR INC. <br /> 470 N. MAIN ST. MANTECA, CA. <br /> J.N.S. Construction intends to remove and replace underground storage tanks containing <br /> unleaded gasoline. Construction materials are semi-fluid substances such as concrete and <br /> asphalt and solid materials such as pea gravel and excavated dirt Electrical wiring will be <br /> connected as necessary. <br /> For routine contact with the contractor, J. N. S. Construction, use the address and phone <br /> number above. The on-site person representing the contractor is Mr Coleman Blackmun <br /> onsite phone (209) 823-1344. <br /> There are no Acutely Hazardous Materials involved as listed by the United States <br /> Environmental Protection Agency , Federal Register, April 22, 1987, pages 13397 through <br /> 13490. It is anticipated that there will be no requirement for a permit to excavate over five feet <br /> in depth from the California Division of Occupational Safety and Health since no persons will be <br /> allowed in any excavation over five feet in depth. <br /> It is planned to evacuate as much unleaded gasoline as possible by conventional means from <br /> the tanks before removal from the ground begins. The tanks will be filled with an inert <br /> substance (dry ice) by subcontract. <br /> Action.In the.Event of a Spill of Unleaded Gasoline <br /> Shut off ignition sources. Stop leak if you can do it without risk. Use water spray to reduce <br /> vapors. For small spills, take up with sand or other absorbent material and place into <br /> containers for later disposal. For larger spills, dike far ahead of the spill for later disposal. No <br /> smoking, flames or flares allowed in the hazard area. Keep unnecessary people away Isolate <br /> the hazard area and restrict entry <br /> The Superfund Amendments and Reauthorization Act (SARA), Section 304 requires that a <br /> release equal to or greater than the resportable quantity established for that substance be <br /> immediately reported to the Local Emergency Planning Committee and the State Emergency <br /> Response Commission (40 CFR 355.40). If the release of this substance is reportable under <br /> CERCLA Section 103, The National Response Center must be notified immediately at (800) <br /> 424.8802 or (202) 426-2675. <br /> The California Office of Emergency Services is to be notified at (800) 852-7550 or (916) 427- <br /> 4341. The County Fire Department may be contacted at (209) 239-8435 If a personnel, fire or <br /> explosion emercency exists, call 911. <br />
