' Purchasing supplies as necessary <br /> • Controlling activities of subcontractors and respond <br /> to outside agencies <br /> • Anticipating, identifying, assessing, and controlling <br /> fires, explosions, chemical releases, and other <br /> emergency situations . <br /> Health and Safety Coordinator <br /> The Health and Safety Coordinator is responsible for: <br /> ' Establishing health and safety procedures <br /> • Conducting preproject training <br /> • Instructing the Field Supervisor and Emergency <br /> ' Coordinator <br /> • Monitoring during project start-up. <br /> He/she will make advance arrangements with appropriate support <br /> groups and alert them to the site hazards and types of <br /> ' emergencies that may arise. As the Safety Coordinator, specific <br /> duties include: <br /> • Provide a map of the site location and define the <br /> ingress routes <br /> ' Identifying medical and emergency facilities <br /> • Providing training and information about hazards on <br /> site and special handling procedures . <br /> ' Personnel and Subcontractors <br /> All on-site personnel, whether involved in emergency response or <br /> not, will be notified of their responsibilities in an emergency. <br /> They will be familiar with the ECR and the Emergency <br /> ' Coordinator' s authority. <br /> Emergency Equipment <br /> ' In the event of an emergency, equipment will be available that is <br /> consistent with the response plan to rescue and treat victims, <br /> protect response personnel, and mitigate hazardous conditions on <br /> site.
