Absorbent socks are located In specially marked drums in the <br /> area. <br /> Response Procedures. During a spill or release of diesel fuel, the source of the spill or <br /> release must be immediately shut off or stopped. If from a dispensing nozzle, the <br /> nozzle shut off must be engaged, If from a leaking fuel tank or line, use whatever <br /> means to plug up the leak. <br /> After the source Is stopped, the fuel must be contained with the absorbent socks. The <br /> spill must not reach any storm drain or sanitary sewer drain, and all efforts must be <br /> made to prevent such contamination, In the event a spill or release may reach a storm <br /> drain before the spill source can be shut off, the spill must be contained first. Once <br /> contained, the spill source is to be Immediately shut off. <br /> Granular absorbent is carefully applied to the spill and allowed to soak up the fuel. The <br /> absorbent with the fuel Is picked up with shovels and placed Into empty 55 gallon <br /> drums, The drums are to be labelled with the yellow California Hazardous Waste Label <br /> and completed. <br /> Disposal. This material Is to be disposed as hazardous waste by a licensed hauler and <br /> disposal service. <br /> Documentation. The appropriate waste manifest documentation must be completed <br /> and signed by the generator (CKE representative) and hauler (hauler representative). <br /> In-Tranalt Shipping <br /> Employee Information. A complete set of Material Safety Data Sheets are In the cab <br /> of any tractor transporting a trailer with cleaning chemicals to the restaurants. <br /> Responsibility. It Is the driver's responsibility to Insure that a current MSDS packet is <br /> present during all deliveries and that the restaurant Invoices ere available for DOT <br /> Inspection for notices of hazardous materials on board. The truck drivers and assistant <br /> are responsible for the chemical cleaner spills and diesel fuel spllls from the <br /> tractor/traller. The spill or release must be reported to the immediate supervisor at the <br /> Distribution Center. The supervisor on duty at the Distribution Center must report the <br /> spill or release to the Environmental Specialist. <br /> Personal Protection Equipment (PPE).
