Its numerous features offer the owner and
operator benefits unavailable from any other system
on the market today. A unique venturi activated pop• re
pet makes the A1000 a true positive shut-off system.
Once it shuts off, the fueling process has come to a
complete standstill with no bleeding or drainage pos-
_ . sible until the operator chooses to da so. Because of `
this feature, the Emco Wheaton A1000 can be set to a '
95% full tank capacity, meeting the EPA's highesty
requirement for overfill prevention. This system also
fulfills the spill protection requirement of the EPA with
the inner catchment basin. A test button featuFe al
{r.✓ lows a user the ability to check the system integrity so p
he'll know it's going to work when it has to. Alreset A+ooooz
arm allows for the quickest hose drainage available,
saving valuable drop time.
How It Works: As a driver/operator unloads fuel, a vacuum is created as the flow
passes over a venturi assembly in the valve. Very similar to the standard service
station nozzle concept, this vacuum extracts its'air supply through a sensing tube
found inside the system's special drop tube. During field installation, this special
drop tube is custom fitted with a predetermined shut-off level (95%) by drilling a
small hole into the sensing tube. This small hole allows the system to breath and
satisfies the vacuum created by the flowing of fuel. Once the hole is Govan by fuel,
the valve can't get its air requirement and then shuts off. In this position, fuell unload
Ing has completely stopped (positive shut-off).The driver/operator then proceeds to
close his tank truck valve and can quickly drain the hose by resetting the valve
poppet- This is easily done by simply pulling up on the reset arm and setting it into
the drain position.
