Stacy Rivera [EH] Page 1 of 1
From: Mike Eliason [mike.eliason@vpps.net]
Sent: Thursday, September 13, 2012 10:57 AM
To: Stacy Rivera [EH]
Subject: ELD Testing
Stacy,
I was checking and deleting old voice messages today and found one from you about required ELD testing. It is my
understanding that we don't have any further requirement to perform ELD testing. The statement below comes from the State
Water Resources Control Board letter, dated March 25, 2008, on the requirement to perform enhanced leak detection.
According to the letter the requirement to perform every three years are for single wall systems. This was confirmed with Ray at
the time we performed our original testing.
For UST systems with secondary containment that were installed before July 1, 2003
and are located within 1,000 feet of a public drinking water well, one-time ELD testing is
required [Health & Saf. Code, §25292.5, subd. (a)].
9/21/2012
