Each fitting had a capped length
of pipe bend clamped to the boot.
C. 8 - Polyethylene 5 gallon buckets with 10 stud bulkhead penetration
£lttings installed at the bottom. Each fitting had a capped length
of pipe band clamped to the boot.
The following teats were conducted_ The results relate only to those
samples tested.
F-,=D COMPATIBILITY TEST:
METHOD
Syecimens cut from Samples described in Item A were immersed in each of
the fluids specified in Table 1 for periods of 70 hours. The samples and
fluids were maintained at a temperature of 23± -2°C throughout the exposure.
Following each exposure period, samples were removed from each fluid and
immediately subjected to tensile testing in accordance with ASPM D412.
Standard Test Methods for Rubber Properties in Tension. Additionally, the
volume change and material extracted was determ5ned for those specimen that
were immersed in Che internal fluids in accordance with ASTM D471, Standard
Test Methods for Rubber Properties-Effects on Liquids.
EVALUATION CRITERIA,
The average tensile strength and elongation of the samples that were
immersod in the fluids shall not be less than 606 of the average tensile
strength and elongation of the samples tested in the as-receivod condition.
The volume change shall be not less than -16 and not more than 406. The
material extracted shall not be more tLan 101E. If the results ere found not
to comply With the requirements, the Simulated Use Resistance To Fluids Test
described below was conducted.
RaS'JLTS
The resalts are presented in Table II_ Based on the results, the
Simulated Use Resistance to Fluids Test was conducted.
0
8I ' d CCVC89b6O21 01 6Sb8 L6S 29S I I9d ?Jd Wd 50 : 1 V002 91 8UW
