• EXECUTIVE SUMMARY <br /> In connection with the removal and disposal of one underground storage tank <br /> (UST), piping, appurtenances, and tank contents (diesel fuel), samples of rinsate, <br /> soil, and fuel will be collected and analyzed for total petroleum hydrocarbons (TPH)- <br /> extractable (diesel), TPH-purgeable (gasoline)(CA DHS LUFT Methods), aromatic <br /> hydrocarbons (EPA Method 8020), and lead (EPA Method 7421). It is estimated <br /> that thirteen soil samples and two water samples (if groundwater is encountered) <br /> will be collected for laboratory analysis. <br /> The purpose of sampling and analysis is to obtain representative samples and <br /> defensible laboratory data for proper disposal of the UST and associated waste <br /> materials, and for soil removal confirmation. <br /> • <br /> ES-1 <br />
