• Briefing field team on specific duties, <br /> Controlling site access, and <br /> Providing liaison with public officials. <br /> Safety and Health Officer- <br /> As the project Safety and Health Officer and Certified Industrial Hygienist, Mr. Gus Ballis is <br /> responsible for assisting in the development of this Safety and Health Plan in compliance <br /> with OSHA standards and CKY safety and health policies. Additional responsibilities <br /> include: <br /> • Modifying and/or developing new safety and health procedures as necessary. <br /> • Ensuring all onsite personnel have been medically certified and trained in accordance <br /> with applicable OSHA standards in order to perform field activities. <br /> • Reviewing medical surveillance procedures as outlined in CKY's Health and Safety <br /> Plan. <br /> • • Conducting initial site-specific training. <br /> • Being available for consulting on first day of removal activities and for emergencies. <br /> • Reviewing accident reports, air monitoring reports, and daily inspection reports. <br /> • Selecting respiratory protection, personal protective equipment, and levels of <br /> protection. <br /> • Authorizing a stop-work order if he determines, in consultation withthe Site Safety and <br /> Health Officer, that a safety hazard or potentially dangerous situation exists. <br /> Site Safety and Health Officer <br /> Mr. Robert Castaneda will act as Site Safety and Health Officer (SHO). Mr. Castaneda has <br /> over 16 years experience in the construction industry and over 7 years in hazardous waste <br /> operations. He has extensive experience in the removal and installation of underground <br /> storage tank systems; underground construction, including utilities, concrete vaults, and <br /> retaining walls; projects involving pouredin-place concrete; and demolition. Onsite safety <br /> and health concerns will be the responsibility of Mr. Castaneda. Specific responsibilities <br /> include: <br /> • Selecting the proper level of personal protective equipment (PPE) and respiratory <br /> protection in accordance with this Site-specific Safety and Health Plan, and ensuring its <br /> use by all onsite employees. <br /> C-2 <br />
