a 6
CITY OF TRACY, BOYD CENTER
560 TRACY BLVD
TRACY, CA
On August 9, 1995, I was present at 560 Tracy Blvd. to witness the soil sampling
of the piping trenches for the unleaded and premium gasoline product pipelines.
In attendance were William Little of Advanced GeoEnvironmental, and Mike Flores
and another individual both of Stockton Service Station.
The piping replacement was undertaken due to the failure of a newly installed
leak detector system. This system failed the system installation inspection.
The submersible pumps of the three tanks were replaced due to incompatibility of
the pumps with the newly installed monitoring system. The product piping for the
gasoline lines were replaced based on the failure of the line tests conducted by
Stockton Service Station.
The pipe-trench samples were taken between the dispenser and the submersible
pump. An additional sample was taken in the trench near the premium dispenser
because of a slight odor that was detected in the soil.
Because there was a total of six separate soil stockpiles, three pipelines and
three submersible pumps, and because of the small quantity of soil in each
stockpile the decision was made to take composite samples (two into one) of the
soil stockpiles.
The first samples taken were of the piping trenches. It was then that the
gasoline odor was discovered near the premium dispenser and the additional sample
taken. It was at this time that I was called away to respond to an emergency.
Prior to my leaving the site the sampling plan was discussed and agreed upon by
the above parties.
