Wilson Way, Stockton, California, 95205.
On May 21, 2001,I reviewed the Installation Plan for 30,OOOgal compartmentalized UST
at Food 4 Less in Stockton and found the Plan to be incomplete. The Installation Plan
lacks the following:
1. A site plot plan showing exact location of the USTs, and dual wall piping layout.
2. Submit equipment and material specification sheets and manufacturer's
brochures describing field testing procedures, operating and monitoring systems.
See Submittal of Plans 1. b
3. All interstitial monitors must perform according to manufactures standards and
must be tested annually. See Submittal of Plans 1. c
4. Include a detailed monitoring and response plan in accordance with section 2632
(d) (1)&(2), CCR,Title 23 Waters, Division 3, Chapter 16.
5. CA State `B' forms are incomplete please submit UST `B' forms page 2.
6. EHD strongly recommends installing a fill tube with positive shut off valve. I
have enclosed a copy of LG 150 explaining CA State requirements for ball float
valve installation.
7. Blue print exam of piping reveals vent/vapor piping will not be secondarily
contained. EHD would like to encourage the installation of dual wall vent/vapor
piping at the time of UST installation. Dual wall ventivapor lines are not
required at this time. However, requiring dual wall piping is being discussed by
the state, and may become a requirement in the near future.
8. Prior to Installation Plan Approval engineer must submit buoyancy calculations.
9. Glasteel UST must have a holiday test in addition to vacuum test.
10. Contractor needs to complete and submit CA State form`C' prior to permit
issuance.
Handouts provided: 1. Pages 1,2, &3 of Installation plan, 2. Two CA State `B' forms, 3.
Copy of LG 150, 4. CA UST Regs section 2632 (d)(1)(2)monitoring and response plans
guidelines, 5. Two CA State `C' forms.
