irstaflation Instructions' '
The following procedures and instructions are required to be followed for proper installation of Jacketed
Steel Tanks. Although the Tank Jacket is made of a tough and puncture resistant material, care must be ;
taken to make sure it is not damaged during installation.
Failure to comply with these instructions shall void warranty. National, state, and local construction
codes shall be consulted as well as NFPA 30 & 31.
The attached Installation Checklist shall be completed in full by the installation supervisor as the tank in-
stallation progresses. As each condition is satisfactorily met it should be initialed by the installation super-
visor. After the Installation Checklist has been completed and signed-off it shall be detached and mailed.
Failure to return the Installation Checklist shall prevent issuance of the signed Jacketed Steel Tank
Warranty.
O Handling
Use the lifting lug(s) on the tank when hoisting
the tank. The tank should be carefully lifted and
lowered by use of cables or chains. Do not use
cables or chains around the tank. Use guide
ropes to position the tank, if necessary.
Equipment to lift the tank shall be of adequate
size to lift and lower the tank without dragging or
dropping to ensure no damage to the Tank
Jacket or steel inner tank. (See Tank Weight
Table)
O2 Site Storage
Tanks should be stored on a flat surface area
free of rocks and debris. The tank should be /
chocked to prevent rolling during high winds. Do
not roll or drag tank at any time, use hoisting
equipment. I /
For site storage longer than six months the tank
should be covered by a tarp or 6 mil black
polyethelene.
® Pre-installation Testing
All Jacketed Steel Tanks are air-pressure and
soap tested prior to shipment from the factory. It
is also required that a air-pressure soap test, not 2 4.
more than 1 psi, be performed on the job site by =
the installation contractor.
Note: For tanks shipped to the job site with a PSI
vacuum on the Tank Jacket it is not necessary to
perform the air-pressure soap test, unless the
vacuum indicator shows that the vacuum was not
held.
