One pipe diameter separation at cross -avers. <br />f. The Contractor is responsible for any design, materials, equipment, permits - <br />etc., for shoring or sloping a hole. <br />6-150.04 FILL AND BACKFIL,I, <br />A. All fill material shall be of a granular nature, free fran vegetation and extraneous <br />material. Owner's Representative shall inspect and approve the material before it <br />is spread. Spread material in lifts not to exceed 12 inches and tamp thoroughly. <br />B. APPROVED BACK= MATERIALS: <br />The following materials shall be used up to 12" above the tank: <br />1. PEA GRAVEL: A clean, naturally rounded aggregate with a 1/8" minimUM and a 3/ <br />maxim= diameter. Up to 3% of the particles may pass through a #8 sieve. <br />2. STONE OR GRAVEL CRIJSHINGS: washed material, with particle size between 1/8" a <br />1/211. Up to 3% of the particles may pass through a #8 sieve. <br />3. Approved materials must be dry, free of ice and snow, and meet ASTM C-33, Para <br />9.1 for quality and soundness. <br />VERIFY THAT BACKFILL MATERIAL, IS IN ACCORDANCE WITH TANK MANUFACTURER'S SPECIFICATIONS. <br />BACKFILL ABOVE THE TANK SHALL BE AGGREGATE BASE, CLASS II, COMPACTED TO 95% R.C. PER Z <br />STANDARD SPECIFICATIONS. <br />C. BEDDING OF TANKS <br />1. A 12" minimum bed of backfill material is to be placed in the hole, smoothe <br />sloped to allow a tank slope of 1" in 10' downward toward the fill end prior <br />setting the tank. <br />6-150.06 TANK HOLE LINER <br />A. Contractor is to provide and install a Filter Fabric Tank Hole Liner. <br />1. The entire tank hole (sides and bottom) shall be covered. Lay the fabric with <br />foot minimum overlaps. The top of the tank backfill shall also be covered with <br />cutouts for risers, etc. <br />2. Bedding material is to be placed on the top of the filter fabric. Excess fabric <br />at the top of the hole should be folded aver the backfill materila at subgrade <br />level. <br />Dupont "Typar" SPunbond polypropylene - Style 3401; Phillips Fibers Corp. - "Supac <br />4np"; Hoechst "Trevira" Spunbond 1115. <br />6.15 <br />
