Soil samples will be collected from the
side walls and bottom of the excavation to confirm the extent of contamination. The samples will
be analyzed for TPH-d and BTEX and the results will be forwarded to PHS/EHD.
PHSIEHD does not recommend the use of a backhoe as an assessment tool. A backhoe is limited
to a depth of 20 feet. Contaminated soil plumes have been known to extend to groundwater which.
in this area is at approximately 50 feet below grade. Corrective action which is not directed by
PHSIEHD may not be eligible for reimbursement by the SWRCB reimbursement fund.
If you have any questions please contact Steven Sasson, RENS, at(209)468-3459.
Donna Heran, REHS, Director
E it mental Health Division
e assn, enior R HS Margaret Lagorio, Rl=HS
LOP/Site Mitigation Unit IV Supervisor .
:Ib i
c: SWRCB, Underground Storage Tank Section - Mel Jacobo
c: RWQCB, Central Valley Region -Pat Anderson
c: United Pacific Environmental -Scott Strong
it
A Division of San Joaquin County Health Care Services
