There must be at least one emergency coordinator on site or on call to <br /> coordinate emergency response measures, and the following information must be posted by a phone: the name and <br /> phone number of the emergency coordinator; location of fire extinguishers, spill control equipment, and if present, fire <br /> alarm; and the phone number of the fire department, unless the facility has a direct alarm. Immediately appoint an <br /> emergency coordinator and post the required information by a phone. A form is provided that can be used for this <br /> purpose. <br /> This is a minor violation. <br /> 105 CCR 66262.34(d)(2) Failed to train employees on waste handling and emergency procedures. <br /> At the time of inspection, it could not be demonstrated (not necessarily documented)that employees who handle <br /> hazardous waste were properly trained. The generator must ensure that all employees who handle hazardous waste <br /> are thoroughly familiar with proper waste handling and emergency procedures. Provide proof of training to the EHD for <br /> employees whose responsibilities include hazardous waste. <br /> This is a minor violation. <br /> 302 CCR 66262.34(d)(2) Failed to maintain required emergency equipment. <br /> Storage containers for waste absorbent were not found on site. The only storage drum for waste liquid was completely <br /> full. All facilities shall be equipped with an internal communication or alarm system, a device capable of calling <br /> outside emergency help, spill control equipment, and decontamination equipment at all times. Immediately provide <br /> spill control equipment and maintain on site. <br /> This is a minor violation. <br /> 601 CCR 66262.34(d) Stored hazardous waste onsite greater than 180 days. <br /> Facilities who generate less than 1000 kg of hazardous waste per month and do not exceed 6000 kg of waste stored <br /> on site at any time may store waste on site up to 180 days. A 55 gallon blue steel drum completely full of liquid was <br /> observed in storage area behind the building with a blank hazardous waste label. Since it cannot be determined how <br /> long the hazardous waste has been on site, immediately eantact•a licensed hazardous waste hauler to dispose of this <br /> waste under manifest.
